Bundle Three

1. I don't know much about art or art shows at all. The only arts that really interest me enough to learn about are music and movies and sense those two didn't really fall in the category this was pretty abstract to me. I chose modern art because I have been to a modern art museum that is in my area so I used that as my back bone. I know that modern art is very abstract and one of the more recent styles of art. Some famous artist and pieces fall into this category a piece being the scream and an artist being Vincent Van Gogh.

Bundle 2

1. What I Know: What I know about barbecuing and grilling starts with it prominence in our culture. Summers seem to revolve around the grill, it can be seen on television programs and movies. Other then that what I know about barbecuing that is the slow smoking of means, most commonly pork. The word barbecue is also commonly used to describe a get together that involves the grilling of foods when technically it is the word to describe the type of cooking. Grills come in a variety of styles today, gas/propane and charcoal grills are the two most popular. One could pretty much grill any type of food I have any come across grilled pizza before.

3. I talked to many people on this topic as almost everyone has used a grill or been to a barbecue. Most people would say they couldn't imagine the summer without at least one barbecue with family and friends. The food and the atmosphere are just something that scream summer that most people couldn't be without. I also talked to a couple of the employees who worked at a barbecue restaurant. They told me about the process they go through for much of their food. The one that caught my attention the most was how they prepare there pigs. They put a whole pig in a smoke room overnight so when they come in the next day the meat falls right off the bone and can easily be pulled to create the wonderful pulled pork.

4. To go there as I said i went to different restaurants to collect ideas. I gathered menus for style ideas and barbecue menus for ideas on what to put on the menu. I also learned from the employees at the restaurant and even enjoyed some of their food. As well as this I have been to many barbecues before so I gathered much from these experiences.

Field Analysis 1

1. What I know: What I know about Tarrywile park, it is a large park with many trails to hike, a mansion, and a castle all on the property. As well as that there is a greenhouse and still some fruit trees for the orchards that used to be there. In my personal experience there I have gone hiking and enjoyed the natural beauty. The lake, the ponds and the fields are all very enjoyable to see on a nice summers day. Some things about the park I have heard in terms of folklore, is that the castle is haunted. I have heard stories of hikers having things such as sticks and rocks thrown at them when near the castle. As far as truth behind this haunting it is really up to weather you believe in ghosts or not, I personally have not experienced anything supernatural anytime I have visited the castle.

3. I interviewed a woman I met who volunteers at Tarrywile, Her name was Betty Smith, and she has lived in Danbury for the last 34 years of her life. She said she enjoys volunteering at the park because she loves seeing people be able to enjoy a place in the outdoors. Her duties as a volunteer include working in the mansion doing things such as upkeep. She also does some of the guided hikes where she shares some information about the history of the park and teaches people about some of the plants and animals you may encounter on your visit.
